Republic Airport Vision Plan

The Republic Airport Vision Plan was initiated by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) and the Republic Airport Commission (RAC) in April, 2009. The vision plan is a unique and innovative process that allows all stakeholders a voice in an effort to develop a framework and consensus on the vision for Republic Airport to follow in the future. Airport stakeholders include civic group leaders and participants, elected officials, the business and aviation community and RAC members.

On December 2, 2010 the Long Island Business Aviation Association (LIBAA) held its end of the year meeting and dinner at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, NY. In spite of the busy holiday season, and the time constraints that most of us feel at this time of the year, the event was very well attended by association members and guests.

?The County of Suffolk, Francis S. Gabreski Airport, and Island Harvest are looking for your help to promote hunger awareness during the 2010 holiday season. Island Harvest is Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization.

We have one of the largest networks of business aviation service facilities and one of the most experienced and factory-trained staffs in the U.S. From engines and airframes to avionics, completions and paint, we can do it all on virtually any type of corporate aircraft in use today.

Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan was joined by Councilmen John Edwards and Gene Parrington, Commissioner of Aviation Teresa Rizzuto, and President of the New York State Fraternal Order of Police, Islip Lodge, Arthur Turner to announce that more than 1,200 people participated in the Long Island MacArthur Airport 5K Run for Veterans – the first road race held on the airfield of Long Island’s only commercial airport. The race raised more than $40,000 to benefit Long Island 9-1-1 Veterans, a homegrown non-profit organization dedicated to helping local veterans.
